Our Annual Daniel Kekana Memorial Golf Day marks a special place in our hearts in more ways than one.
The golf day is an acknowledgement and appreciation of the hard work that we as a company have achieved over the last 12 months.
It is also a time for reflection on one of the key members of our company, Daniel Kekana, who passed away in 2022. He was an integral member of the Brelko team and someone who embodied what it means to be part of this team: determination, hard-working, resilience, innovation, integrity, kindness, and generosity.
Kenny Padayachee expressed on the day: “It is emotional not having Danny here for the last two years, but the fact that we are celebrating a legend’s life is awesome. We should also remember to respect people while they are alive. Sometimes we need to reflect and do some introspection and ask, ‘Who are we?’. We can be better, we NEED to be better, and if we keep thinking like that, we will build an awesome company, and those values will transfer throughout the company.”
R15,000.00 was raised on the day. Management has added to the strong collection and has forwarded a special donation, to the total value of R41,571.20, towards Oliver’s Village and The Johannesburg Children’s Home, in memory of Daniel Kekana.
Thank You Letter Received from The Johannesburg Children’s Home – 8th February 2024
Dear JCH Friend
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to you for the support you have given to us. Your donation of food and stationery has helped greatly in ensuring that we can continue to provide effective, quality care for every child at The Johannesburg children’s Home (JCH).
The current global economic downturn has made NPO’s like JCH difficult to survive. JCH cannot maintain the intensive care programmes without donor support.
Your partnering makes a real difference in the lives of the children. They have all suffered so many upheavals in their lives and it is comforting to know that we can rely on donors such as yourself to make it possible for us to guide the children to be the best they can.
We thank you again.
Yours sincerely

Thank You Letter Received from Oliver’s Village – 9th February 2024
Dear Mr. Kenny Padayachee,
On behalf of our staff and beneficiaries, we would like to take this opportunity to express our sincerest appreciation for your support and the generous donation of Early Childhood Development Centre and Soup Kitchen Wish List Items we have received on 8 February 2024 to the value of R20 569.30. The Items will be used in our Early Education Centre and Soup Kitchen at Oliver’s Village.
Oliver’s Village provides various social services such as education, training, skills development, early childhood development and food security, with the objective of facilitating sustainable access to the economy. Our beneficiaries come from the disadvantaged areas of Daveyton, Etwatwa and Wattville on the East Rand. The social service infrastructure of these communities are very limited, therefore we are committed to providing free and responsible services to the most vulnerable within these communities.
Our organisation has been built on a solid foundation through the generosity, thoughtfulness and compassion of our supporters and partners, from the classrooms of our Education and Computer training centre to the playground of our Children’s Care Centre, such a foundation has been vital, as the increased demand for our services continuously stretch our limited resources.
Once again, thank you so much for your generosity and support, we will continue to perform our duties and responsibilities, and look forward to a continued partnership with you.
With Sincere Gratitude,
Marita Dewbetty
Fundraising & Donor Relations Officer
